Field Day 2013

Field Day is the ARRL's annual premier operating event for showcasing amateur radio's capabilities during an emergency or disaster.  This year the event, which always occurs on the FOURTH full weekend in June, takes place at Waller Park Extension on June 22 and 23.  Operating time runs from 2:00 PM EDT Saturday until 2:00 PM EDT Sunday, with setup and tear-down immediately before and after operations.  Please plan to join us for yet another successful NFARL Field Day Event.

We will operate a CW station, a Digital station, a Satellite multi-mode station, two HF SSB stations, a VHF  (6M) station, and an HF Get-On-The-Air (GOTA) station.

Also, as in the past, we plan to hold a Scout merit badge class Saturday morning and have a delicious dinner Saturday evening.  Lynn Kahn, N4MSK will be handling food again this year.  Contact her at FDFood@nfarl.org if you would like to hep with food.

Jim N4SEC is again handling our publicity efforts and doing a marvelous job.  Click here to see a nice article that appeared in the NorthFulton.com Revue & News on June 18th, 2013.

Roswell Mayor Jere Wood has proclaimed the week of June 22 - 23 to be Amateur Radio Week.  A good contingent of NFARL representatives attended the Roswell City Council meeting on June 10th and received the Proclamation.  Thanks to Mayor Wood and the Roswell City Council for this recognition of our efforts.  Click on the image to the right to download a PDF file containing Mayor Wood's proclamation.  Click here to see photos of the City Council meeting.

Station captains are soliciting for operators.  Please respond to their requests and operate as much as you can.  Here are the links to the on-line sign-up pages:
