Field Day 2012

Once again, Field Day is rapidly approaching.  Field Day is the ARRL’s annual premier operating event for showcasing amateur radio’s capabilities during an emergency or disaster.  This year the event, which always takes place the last full weekend in June, takes place at Waller Park Extension on June 23 and 24.  Operating time runs from 2:00 PM EDT Saturday until 2:00 PM EDT Sunday, with setup and tear-down immediately before and after operations.  Please plan to join us for yet another successful NFARL Field Day Event.

We will operate a CW station, a Digital station, a Satellite multi-mode station, two HF SSB stations, and an HF Get-On-The-Air (GOTA) station.

Also, as in the past, we plan to hold a Scout merit badge class and have a delicious dinner Saturday evening.  Lynn Kahn, N4MSK will be handling food again this year.  Contact her at FDFood@nfarl.org if you would like to hep with food.

Jim N4SEC is again handling our publicity efforts and doing a marvelous job.  Click here to download a copy of a brief article from the 6/21 Atlanta Journal Constitution edition.  Click here to see the article that appeared in the Northside Neighbor's June 20th Roswell edition (the article was front page on the printed copy.)

The station captains are soliciting for operators.  Please respond to their requests and operate as much as you can.  The station captains for 2012 are:
