Field Day Bulletin #5

June 10, 2010

Mark Your Calendars- Upcoming Field Day Events

All,

As we get closer to Field Day, the pace of activities surrounding the event picks up.  We have two significant events in the next couple of weeks that we need everyone to attend.

Jim Stafford, W4QO, already publicized the first event.  Alive After Five is next Thursday, June 17, in downtown Roswell.  We'll be featuring information and a display related to Field Day this month.  The event runs from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM, and we set up in front of Go With the Flow on Canton St.  If anyone has a small pop-up tent (doesn't need stakes) Jim can use as part of the display, please contact him off-list.  Please come out and help us educate the public about Field Day.

The second major event before Field Day takes place on Monday, June 21.  That evening, Roswell Mayor Jere Wood will read into the city council meeting record a proclamation honoring NFARL, the ham community, and Field Day.  This is the only Field Day proclamation we're receiving from a city government this year.  Please come out wearing your NFARL gear and show Mayor Wood and the Roswell City Council what a force we are in the local ham community.  The meeting is at Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill Street, Roswell, at 7:00 PM.  If you attended our big event last November with Joel Hallas, this meeting is in the same room we met in then.

See everyone at these events and the club meeting next Tuesday, June 15, in our new location - the North Alpharetta Park Adult Activities Center.

Thanks and 73,

Ian, AK4IK
2010 Field Day Chairman
